Minimal data for licensing
SliceDim's anonymous 30-day trial does not require an account, email address, payment method, or Trimble identity.
To prevent repeated trial resets, the plugin creates a random installation identifier and sends one-way hashes of any stable device signals available on the computer. Raw hardware, operating-system, volume, and local-user identifiers are discarded on the device and are never sent to SliceDim.
The service protects those hashes again with a server-side secret before storage. Trial administration shows aggregate counts only; it does not expose individual device records.
Paid licensing stores the account, Stripe customer and purchase references, licence entitlements, and pseudonymous installation records needed to enforce the 2-device limit. Stripe processes the payment and stores the billing name, billing address, and optional tax ID collected for tax calculation and invoices. SliceDim does not collect shipping information. Licence keys and activation credentials are stored by the service only as one-way hashes.
If you create a passkey, SliceDim stores its public key and the credential metadata needed to verify sign-ins. Your biometric information and device PIN remain on your device or with your passkey provider and are never sent to SliceDim.
Anonymous product statistics are enabled by default and can be disabled at any time in SliceDim Settings. SliceDim sends absolute daily counts of extension loads, rail creation attempts, successful rail creations, edits, rescans, and allowlisted error categories, together with the SliceDim and SketchUp versions and platform. When the service receives telemetry through Cloudflare, it also stores the country code supplied by Cloudflare for that request; no precise location is collected.
Usage records contain random installation and model identifiers. They never contain model or file names, paths, geometry, coordinates, entity identifiers, exception messages, or stack traces. If an installation later activates a paid licence, its usage can be associated with that customer account through the same pseudonymous installation identifier.
Disabling anonymous statistics immediately removes queued usage records from the device and stops further collection. Previously received daily aggregates are retained for up to 24 months. The plugin removes acknowledged local records after 30 days.
Previously generated SketchUp geometry is never removed or changed because a trial or licence expires.
